Magandang araw!
Few days ago, we renewed the registration of our car. It took us two days to finish the process. We are from Rizal and sharing this for your reference.
The Process
Monday, we arrived at the Land Trasportation Office (LTO) in Rizal, around 1:30pm. We were referred by the guard to the emission testing. However, no more slot was available for that day. So we got our number for the slot the following day.
Gathering all requirements, we get The Third Party Liability (TPL) insurance ready for the next day slot. The insurance amounted to ₱1,350.00
If you are a senior citizen registering your car, it's much faster because you are given priority on the line. Since I am, I was advised by the emission testing staff to just come after lunch, around 1:30pm, as the lines are longer in the morning getting lesser in the afternoon, anyway, I have already reserved a slot. I just need to make sure I will be at LTO before 2pm, otherwise, my slot will be given to walk in registrants.
The next day, Tuesday, at 1:45, we were already at the LTO. Our car went directly to emission testing and few minutes, it was done. The fee was ₱450.00 for the emission testing.
The Stencil part ... new process
So our car went to the Senior line, but due to the new process in Rizal, not sure if it's the same in NCR or any other LTO branches, the stencilling part took a lot of time. Here's the process:
Once, it was our car's turn, the LTO personnel managing the stencilling, went to our car, inspect the inside and out of the car. Then, he posed for a picture at the front of the car, holding our documents. It was done by batch. Then we waited for the stencil form printed with the picture of the LTO personnel. It took a little longer printing the forms with pictures as there were several cars for stencilling, in a batch.
The printing was done inside LTO office. When the stencil form with picture of the LTO personnel was available for our car, the stencilling was done. After the stencilling, we brought the stencil form to the emission testing, so he can put the chassis number of the car ready for presentation to LTO office for registration.
Registration
After all the processes mentioned above, we went to the LTO guard to get a number for the registration. I was given a senior number and proceeded inside LTO office. After 30 minutes more or less, I was called at the cashier to pay ₱1,610.00 for the registration fee. The cashier handed the Official Receipt and the registration was completed.
For a total of two hours, we were able to complete the registration process.
Why the LTO personnel will pose for a picture on the car to be registered? It's because it was found out that lots of vehicles were registered without personal appearances. The vehicle is being checked to make sure it is still roadworthy, safe for travel.
That's all for now... till next time for useful and interesting topics.
GOD BLESS EVERYONE!🙏💕
