You’ve finally gathered the siblings, signed the Extrajudicial Settlement (EJS), and figured out the newspaper publication details. You might think the hardest part is behind you, but there is one massive gatekeeper you still have to pass before the property can officially be transferred to your names: the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) . To change the name on a land title, the Registry of Deeds will strictly demand an eCAR (Electronic Certificate Authorizing Registration) . Think of the eCAR as your official "tax clearance" proving that the government has received its fair share of estate taxes. If your documents are disorganized, a single trip to your Revenue District Office (RDO) can quickly turn into a frustrating circle of rejections. How to Transfer Shares of Stock to the Heirs

Good morning!❤️

Our topic for today is about transfer of shares of stock to the heirs.

Two weeks ago I was at the BIR presenting for computation of Estate Tax Return an Extra Judicial Settlement of Estate. The BIR examiner noted some shares of stock were included in the document. Our intention was for those shares to be transferred to the heirs just like the real estate properties.

For these, BIR examiner advised that we get a certificate from the Philippines Stock Exchage (PSE) that would show the price of the stock as of the date of death of the DECEDENT. That would be presented to the BIR together with the stock certificate.

We called up PSE helpdesk and was advised to email PSE for our concern, then from there PSE will act on our request.

PSE helpdesk no: 8876 4888

PSE email:  info@pse.com.ph

Once the BIR eCAR will be released and publication of the Extra Judicial Settlement of Estate will be done, that's the time we could request transfer of the shares of stock to the heirs from the issuing company. But don't forget, the issuing company requires also an heir's bond to facilitate the transfer.

Currently, we are on the process, will update this page as we go along.

Be safe everyone! πŸ™Thank you.
